HOUSE NUMBERSHELP US HELP YOU!
The Northfield Volunteer Fire Company is starting a campaign that will help us to help you by providing uniform, reflective house numbers for all the homes in our community. For obvious reasons, the Northfield Volunteer Fire Company needs an accurate house identification to guarantee a prompt response in any emergency.
These reflective metal panels are especially visible at night. They are numbered on both sides and easily fastened to a metal post or to your mailbox post if it is located on the same side of the traveled road as your driveway.
Local building codes and Connecticut state law require that an accurate, easily read number identify all homes. These numbers are also important to local and state police, ambulance services, UPS and other commercial delivery services.
The cost for the house numbers is as follows:

Installation (Northfield Fire district only)….$10.00
• It must be placed on the same side of the traveled road as your driveway and located within six feet of that road and your driveway.
• It must be visible from both directions of road travel.
• It must be at least four feet above ground in order to be visible over snow piles.
• If there is more than one house on your common driveway, order two numbers (one to be located at the road junction and one close to your home).
• If there are new homes in your area, please let your neighbors know about our project.
