    Sim-Lab

On Wednesday, February 11th, we were fortunate to be able to use the sim-lab at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for our monthly EMS training.  The focus of our training was treating patients with tracheostomy tubes.  We learned about the different types of tracheostomy tubes available today, how to perform rescue breathing and how to suction.  We also discussed what potential problems could arise and how to deal with them.

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital's EMS Coordinator, Paul Rebauf, demonstrates the proper method to suction a tracheostomy tube.
